Our Core Responsibilities

The Monitoring & Evaluation Cell (MEC), Planning & Development Department, Government of Sindh, is entrusted with the following responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and Evaluation of progress, outputs, and outcomes of provincial development schemes
  • Verification of physical and financial progress of schemes through systematic field visits
  • Publishing / Submission of Monitoring & Evaluation Reports of field visits to the concerned authorities, administrative departments and executing agencies for timely course-corrections
  • Identification of bottlenecks, along with their resolution or timely escalation to relevant authorities
  • Arrange Mid-Year Review of the Annual Development Plan (ADP) and prepare its documentation
  • Scrutiny and compilation of Monthly Progress Reports of ADP received from Administrative Departments and District Governments
  • Preparation and publication of the Annual Report of Monitoring & Evaluation Cell
  • Coordination & follow-up of tasks related to the Pakistan Citizen Portal and implementation of directives from the President, Prime Minister, and Chief Minister
  • Performing any additional assigned tasks related to data analysis, reporting, and decision support for the provincial development portfolio
